Trevor Carter
Funeral and memorial celebrant

I became a celebrant because I want to create and deliver memorable ceremonies; ceremonies that "capture the essence" of the deceased person. I feel this is crucial to helping people through the difficult process of bereavement.

The skills involved are those I have cultivated and honed to a high standard in a variety of professional roles: award-winning poet and storyteller, teacher and trainer. I love hearing stories, reading stories and writing stories; and every life is a story to tell.

I thought your speech and the way you delivered it was fantastic
and helped make a difficult day special, thank yo

Glynis Dalton, May 2020

I trained as a funeral celebrant with Humanists UK.
I am committed to providing exactly the sort of ceremony the family requires;

which may or may not include religious content. I welcome all faiths and none.

My aim is to create a ceremony that accurately reflects the life of the person you have lost,

a ceremony that is all about them in any style you have in mind.

I am based in Bristol but happy to travel.

COVID – latest update

   • The numbers of mourners allowed to attend has now been increased from 10 to 30.

   • Restrictions may vary at different venues. Your funeral director will advise you.

You may decide that in view of these restrictions you would prefer to have a memorial service at a later date. Memorial services may also be held so those who could not make the funeral can be included. I would happy to talk to you about this option.
