Trevor Carter
Funeral and memorial celebrant

I became a celebrant because I want to create and deliver memorable ceremonies that "capture the essence" of the deceased person. I feel this is crucial to helping people through the difficult process of bereavement.

The skills involved are those I have cultivated and honed to a high standard in a variety of professional roles: award-winning poet and storyteller, teacher and trainer. I have also done voluntary work for Bristol Victim Support and Age UK. I love hearing stories, reading stories and writing stories; and every life is a story to tell.

I thought your speech and the way you delivered it was fantastic
and helped make a difficult day special, thank yo

I am committed to providing exactly the sort of ceremony the family requires;

which may or may not include religious content. I welcome all faiths and none.

My aim is to create a ceremony that accurately reflects the life of the person you have lost,

a ceremony that is all about them in any style you have in mind.

I trained as a celebrant with Humanists UK and am now a member of the

Association of Independent Celebrants.

COVID – latest update

The number of mourners allowed at funerals is currently limited. Your funeral director or celebrant can advise on this. If you are interested in having a memorial service at a later date I will be happy to discuss this with you. Memorial services provide an opportunity for those who could not attend the funeral to be included. I would happy to talk to you about this option.
